When it comes to saving lives, there’s no substitute for American made. That’s why every piece of guardrail we manufacture comes from Canton, Ohio.
Guardrail is more than roll formed steel and hardware. It’s protection, and the invisible backbone of American roadways.
Our customers aren’t wearing suits. They’re wearing hard hats and steel-toed boots. They’re mostly family-owned subcontractors who get up before dawn and take pride in building something that lasts. They’re the kind of people who still believe a handshake means something. We take that same pride in what we do, and we’re looking for someone who does too.
If you believe in American-made quality, human connection, and owning relationships across a region that helps shape America’s infrastructure—that is where you come in.
A DAY IN THE LIFE →
Every day brings something new. One morning, you might be interpreting technical drawings for a DOT project or reviewing crash test standards. The next, you’re calling a subcontractor to talk through their latest bid or working with the inside sales team to set up material shipments.
Most of your work centers on maintaining strong relationships, selling directly to end users, paying close attention to the details, and ensuring every order moves from quote to delivery with care and precision. It’s about owning the responsibility, making sure the people who build our highways can count on us.
Ninety percent of your role will focus on account management, nurturing relationships and keeping long-term partnerships strong. The other ten percent is growth: spotting new opportunities and promoting our products responsibly.
Success in this role takes curiosity and commitment. You’ll learn to understand guardrail systems, how the details vary from state to state, and why they matter. You’ll interpret complex technical data, translate it into meaningful conversations, and ensure every project stays aligned with our standards of safety and quality.
This isn’t a typical 8-to-5 job. Our customers are early risers and problem solvers, and so are we. Projects move at the pace of infrastructure. Bid cycles can stretch months and the relationships you build today might turn into wins a year from now. You’ll need patience, follow-through, and a long-game mindset. With every project, you’ll deepen your knowledge and grow into a trusted expert in a field that quite literally keeps America safe.
As our Regional Sales Manager for the Great Lakes region, you’ll represent the top-performing division of a company built on quality, service, and integrity. Reporting directly to Mark McDonald, National Sales Manager, you’ll collaborate closely with the broader sales and inside support teams across the Highway Division.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE TABLE →
You have experience selling into the highway construction industry, ideally in guardrail or other related roadside hardware products. You understand what it takes to serve family-run subcontractors, general contractors, and DOT-adjacent customers who depend on reliability above all else.
You’re a self-directed learner who isn’t afraid to dig into the details: interpreting drawings, understanding standards, and asking the right questions. You bring a balance of technical curiosity and people-first communication. You’re empathetic, coachable, and driven to see things through.
You thrive in environments where teamwork matters more than individual credit and find satisfaction in helping both your company and your customers succeed. A degree in engineering or background in construction management is helpful, and if you happen to be a sales engineer at heart, you’ll feel right at home.
LOCATION →
Ideally, you live somewhere in the Central or Eastern Time Zone, as this role covers the Great Lakes region: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and West Virginia. You’ll work remotely from within the territory, traveling as needed to visit customers, attend trade shows, and connect with the team at our new headquarters in Canton, Ohio.
Travel averages around 35% annually. This is not a road warrior position, but it does require a presence in the field to maintain the relationships that define our success.
COMPENSATION →
We offer a competitive base salary plus performance bonus, along with a full suite of benefits that reflect our commitment to supporting you both professionally and personally.
You’ll receive a monthly car allowance, company laptop, phone, and credit card, with all business expenses covered. We also offer medical/dental/vision, a 401(k) with company match, three weeks of paid time off, and ten paid holidays.
